Default quick Head tq spec help

Everything i see for Stock head bolt tq spec is 22ftlbs 90 degrees 70 degrees.
We don't have a degree thing for the tq wrench so does anyone know what that relates to in Ftlbs? If not we are just gonna put marks on the bolts and get close.

Youd be better off estimating the angle. Friction from the threads can change the torque reading but it doesn't affect the angle reading.....

Correct, you can't translate angles into lb/ft. TTY is about stretching the bolt and the amount of compression on the gasket as opposed to a pre-set tq spec, it's actually more accurate and consistent than using a tq spec as there are factors that can cause different bolts to meet their spec while they're at different depths in their bolt holes. Mark the heads of the bolts with a sharpie, then you can tell how far that you've gone with them. Put the mark at 12:00, first pass 3:00, second pass at just past 5:00...

(Toyota has done it this way for years and we've had a few recalls for head gaskets...I've done a gazillion of them lol)

We did a bit of both and came out to 22, 70, 85.

On the 2nd pass we set it to 70 and it tqd right at 90 degrees and then 85 tqd at 70degeees.

Thanks for quick replies cuz we couldn't move on til we got that done

No still waiting. I was working on a 6L that I'm selling to a friend. He's getting it put in right now and I'ma go tune it in the morning. LQ4 with 317's and a 214/220 that I had spec'd for his 4.8 which finally gave up on him basically. It had bad rings from the start.
Going in a 99 RCSB wit 3.42's
Need to get him set up on an 02 os and some 02 injectors cuz I don't think the 99 injectors are going to handle the load.

yea I have a set on an engine I gave a friend for helping me do a swap. I'ma see if I can use them and buy him some more since his will be a while yet.

If I'm correct the only major thing between a 99 and 02 os is the injectors correct? So if i'm swapping to 02 injectors all I need to do is load up a regular 6.0 tune and then tune for the cam right?
