Question quick question

hi there guys im going to the workshop in an hour.. i have a broken tensioner.. so ill replace it using the LS2 wedge style.. my question is the LS3 cam gear and sproket the same size as the LS2? so that i could use the ls2 Timing Chain Damper using my LS3 gears , is it ok if the chain was a bit loose?
