Anassix. Do you have DOD and did you change your lifters? I just realized you are an 08 and if you have DOD I recall that you have to change the lifters.

Thought so. That was my mistake. Been a while since I bought some. I THINK it's going to be the lifters if you are DOD and didn't change them. but would have to search those threads and don't have time.

Yes I changed the lifters... They are all LS7 lifters now. Valley cover was swapped, disabled DOD in the tune...the works. Now it sounds like a sewing machine.

What springs did you use? Can you get a video of how loud it is?

I used the LS6 yellows. I could try to get a video with my digital camera but I can't say how good the sound quality will be.

I called Comp Cams and Texas Speed again and talked to them about the noise. They said that the camshaft is a aggressive design and it would make the valve train noisy. I guess I am not 100% sold on that. I am going to see about a longer pushrod and see if that clears up the noise.

Anassix. what kind of oil pressure do you have now that you disabled the DOD? i was told that the DOD oil pump would pump too much oil for my motor (found one cheap) and that it could cause issues. now that you have no more DOD did the oil press rise?

No, oil pressure stayed about the same. If anything I think a high volume pump would be better. This cam isn't too aggressive...I know people have installed it before and come out with a quiet engine. I'm from Tucson, AZ btw.

Here's the video...it's really hard to hear, but it's there.
