should i get rid of the lq9?

yeah i say go with what you got build everything up so that when you do have to get a 408 your trany and rear end are ready for the power.

Who would consider ditching an LQ9? Keep it and boost it.

Is this truck a daily driver??
No matter what you decide your tranny will need to be built good and install a good converter. you cant go with an 80e because of the transfer case. With you being awd you wont have to do any work on the axles. what i ment by later is if the lq9 isn't making enough power for you then you can splurge for a 408 or what ever you want. but with the right tuning and the procharger the lq9 should run very well.

yea it is my dd but im considering on gettin a bike as my dd. but eather way i dont wanna make my truck a trailer queen so... like i said for now i guess ill just build my transmission and get the procharger in thanks guys. Any more ideas out there let me kno

2004sss dipped into the high 11s with a lq9 and a vortech on 22s

Yea i think i read somewhere that (Arizonian something) ran 11.4 on the vortech also but i dont know that much about engines just yet! Man this is gonna take more late night sleep of searchin like i have for the past 7 months

Beef up the springs and thrown in some forged internals if you can afford it and boost it up. They can handle more than enough as long as you can flow enough air through it.
