See if he'll go half with you on the cost to get the block checked out by a machine shop to make sure nothing is wrong with it. Considering it's aluminum I'd suppose the machine shop would put the block under the dye check to make sure there aren't any cracks and hopefully the machine shop will pay close attention to that #7 cylinder for abnormal wear or an out-of-round hole. Those iron sleeves can't be bored over much at all so if there are any major problems you're S.O.L.
