August 18th 2006 and September 13th 2006. Looks to be your engine was made in late september then sometime and then installed in an '07 model year truck. You got what you paid for so don't worry there. I would tip the engine upsidedown on the engine stand and fill the crankcase with kerosene. Let it loosen the sludge up for a few days then start wiping it down and vacuuming it out. I don't see this being unreasonable. I wouldn't loosen up anything on the bottom end or undo any bolts that hold the rotating assembly. The bearings are more than likely fine. If you also use a high detergent oil for the first few oil changes it should help clean it as well.

i usually run a quart of trans fluid in with the oil for 20 miles before i change it every once in a while, it is a great cleaner, when i put my cam and springs in my motor looked absolutely new, heads werent stained or sludged up, valve covers had nothing on them, my work truck has almost 300k on its 6.0 motor and i pulled a valve cover a while back out of curiousity and it looked pretty good as well, never used sea foam in the oil, but im sure it works as well. good luck

Well...that sucks. Now you know what gotta do. Whack whoever sold you that motor over the head with the cam. Or mail them that bearing if they live far away. Hope you aren't into it very much as far as $ goes. Got her apart, build it with solid parts now.
