Default stage 2 ls6 heads on 6.0

I just sent an offer to a guy on ls1tech about a pair of heads for my 6.0. Question is how well these heads will work on a 6.0. What will they bring the compression up to if I put flat top pistons? Are they worth 600 dollars?

Patriot Stage 2 LS6 cnc heads with less than 3K on em have the gold springs, larger valves 59cc chambers and extra porting done to heads.

Those are only 300$ new. 949$ assembled new!

Its up to you but I personally on the deal you are talking about would go new. Those have been miled a good bit if they are 59cc. They are 64cc stock. on a lq4 that will gvie you 10.5:1 and lq9 that will give you 11:1. If they have been miled and you have an lq9 your gonna be pushin it to run on pump gas and stock gasket.

Those are the Stage 1 heads, Tarinitup said Stage 2 which would be these; http://www.patriot-performance.com/w...05234&DID=1225

At half the cost of brand new I'd say it's a good price.

Sounds like a good deal, I paid $1400 for my PRC stage 2.5 LS6 heads assembled from TSP. The only thing that would concern me is how much they have been milled.

They may not have been milled. If you read the link, they are a "035" head that the chambers have been welded up. They say that custom chamber sizes are available.

When did the LS6 get an 035 casting? I thought they were all 243's.

The only two LS6 casting numbers I've ever seen are 799 and 243. The 799's were a pre production head and later updated to the 243 casting. The 035 is a 6.0l casting. Basically the same as a 317. My understanding is the welded chamber heads started life as a 6.0l head core. After welding and machining they should work just fine.

Good luck with your head mods. LS6 heads are a great way to go, just watch out that you don't build too much compression.

Richard
