tfs cam swap 4.8
I have been doing a lot of searching in the last week or so. I ran across this cam. GM LS-1
TFS-30602001 216/220 .560/.560 114 lsa. I'm going to run somewhere in the 3000-3200 stall. L/t, 3.73s. In my DD 4.8 truck. I have read alot about to not over cam a 4.8. Does anyone know about this cam? If the cam might work well with my setup.

I love the sound of the cam! Here is comps version should sound nearly identical. Has a muffler and then opens the cut out! 4.8L

As far as Ls6 springs. Is it to close to the max? I have no problem buying good springs. What is the max on a set of ls6 springs?
I found the cam from a guy for 220 brand new. I didn't know anything about it couldn't find anything on it. I think im going to pick it up.
What would be a good set of springs? Should I just get the Texas speed springs? And push rods?
Oh I called Texas speed today. Was asking about oil pumps. They said to go with melling high pressure? I have 174,000 on my truck. It hold 40+ fully warm 60+ driving. Runs awesome super slow but I love the little beater.

You have to remove the oil pump to swap the timing chain so it would be a perfect time to put a new oil pump on.
Ls6 spring are 0.570 unless they are yellow. they yellow ones are good to 0.550. I agree though dish out a little more to get some PAC springs, single good to 0.600 lift I believe.
I would find out the cam specs and lift before you buy that cam for 220. Might be a good idea to swap the lifters, since the heads will have to be removed you could have them milled 0.03 to bring your compression up to 10.1 like a 10hp gain for $100.
