thunder racing cam specs?
#21
Yep i would look into the converter... The lowend is fine, cause your cutting good 60's, however you topend stinks... Last time out I was only shifting at 6250 and i was on street tires and i went 8.7's... If a converter is setup WRONG your topend will suffer... I bet if you dynoed with the TC unlock your graph would look terrible... IMO that converter is not translating the power... You have the SST3600 not the SS3600 correct? This is why I like CircleD cause they build them to spec, Yanks from what i have seen are just off the shelf... For example I called CircleD and inquired about a 3800-4000 converter for my truck, same as Scott's, and he speced me out something different than scotts due to the less weight and TQ....
I did call richard at wcch, he gave me some good advice and answered questions about going to a bigger cam vs the one I have now. my thinking was right on some things, wrong on others. but as long as I stay in the 220-224 range I will not have to change air flow parts. he said that the truck intake should give me the most problems with a bigger cam(than 224). I am going to look into the verter, and see what they say.
thanks for your help.

called circle d and they said the one I have is what they would recommend but higher stall, which would make it even looser. so the verter is ok, I think the shift points are off. i will fix that and then see about another cam.
thanks for all the info guys.
