Default Timing chain

ok so i have a delima here, i bought a new chain to run as the sprockets look fine so i figured a new chain wouldnt hurt, so when i get the new chain and install it it has the same amount of slack as the old one does.

so my ?'s are, should i run the new chain or old one, and how much slack should the timing chain have

Thanks
Tim

i'd use the new chain. how much slack are you seeing? about 1/2" of wiggle between the gears seems pretty normal, wouldn't want much more than that.
