Default Timing chain damper

Well I put the new ls2 chain in the 5.3. It still has its share of slack.

I realize that it probably will not cause a problem, but it bothers me. The block is not drilled for any style damper. I wonder how hard it would be to add either a ls2 or ls3 style. Plus the engine is on the stand so now is the time. Jay

It shouldn’t be hard at all for you on the stand. The damper’s used to come with a template, whether or not they still do I can’t say.
