Lance's truck ran low 13's in full street trim with a converter like yours. Just changing his converter to a 9.5" 3600 would put the truck in the twelves.

What is your current 60' time?

Txsilverado got some pretty good times in his old 5.7 ls1 with the Patriot 226...

I wouldnt do a 226 without a looser torque converter. IMO 3200 isnt enough for a 5.3 with a 226/226.

I'd keep the 220 and get the prc 2.5 heads get them at 58-59cc bring up the cr that's what I would do imo

That pewter truck on the YouTube video is a member on here-- Luke03. Truck runs good and I believe he has a new motor in the truck now. Not sure which cam.

Look on YouTube and search m3srt. He's another member renown on here for his miracle running truck with a tr220. Find the video that says m3srt vs. Luke03. M3srt'sztruck on the video (it's nnbs pewter if you don't know him) has the 243's, stock stall,3.42's,LT's,&tr220. He holds his own against Luke03(the truck you saw on YouTube). That video should help you decide on using the 243's and the tr220 you have.

I would leave the heads alone and get a higher stall first. That suggestion comes from experiencing firsthand the difference a real performance converter can make...
