Yeah that was TxSilverados old cam in my 5.3l in that video.
The cam specs on my old cam were 226/226 584/584 112+4lsa. Compared to Nicks 220/220 581/581 114lsa. Ok amount of more intake and exhaust duration but the lift is about the same. What helped Nick out was the 114lsa on his old cam. Yeah those were some good runs for sure and was fun back then I blame nick for the crappy road though since i spun and short shifted the 1-2 shift on the 1st and 3rd run but thats what i get for having 4.10's and a big stall lol. Cheers to my brotha Nick for having a bad *** running 5.3l
The bigger cam helped me out but having a good set of heads and cam combination will definitely help you out more than just having a bigger cam and not so good flowing heads. The 220 cam is a great performer and has proven itself time and time again. If nick had a bigger cam in that run he could of pulled away from me for sure.
The 226 cam i had pulled great with a 4000 stall in it. Had an awesome lope to it too. I was shifting at 6650 in that video and it pulled great all the way to it. Before i took the motor out i was shifting it at 6800 and it loved every bit of it. Never got to take the 5.3l to the dyno though

Since you have a TR220 i would find me a set of good 243's. Get them milled and freshened up and if you have the money get them ported. That would net you a better gain than going to just a bigger cam. Plus if you go to a bigger cam you will more than likely need to change the converter.
My best track time (5.3l) was a 13.21 @ 101 with a 1.82 60ft in a 2200+DA and some humidity. And that was with stew driving it . I can never get this truck to 60ft well .

Thanks guys for all the good info and replies! And yes I've. Watched alot of m3srt's videos that truck defiantly runs well! I have also been looking into some Futral cams I'm still really undecided what I Wana do at this point Ive got a lq4 as well so I might jst build it and be done. I jst wanted 2 get the most potential out of my 5.3 until I was finished with my 6.0 and I want a nasty sounding cam as well as a performer!
