Keep in mind a 4.8 at 7000 rpm is not trying to suck as much air through the same intake as your 5.3 is. My bet is you won't see any gain at the track by going over what Wheatley suggests. I am slowrc on EFI's site. Glad to see more truckers tweaking there own!

I have a similar cam 222/228 581/588 and running an ls6 intake and p&p heads and it shifts at 6600.Check out my sig.I do have to update it though.Lol!!! Mike

TR220 on a 112 here and shift it at 6500 all gears. 5900 is to low for that cam, get it to at least 6300 I would do 6500 though.

I would shift that 220 cam at 6500 or 6600. It should pull good to those rpms even with stock heads.

My shifts are at 6600 on the 1-2 shift and 6750 on the 2-3 shift with the 226 cam.

as said above, shift it higher than 5900... my 1-2 shift is 6850 and 2-3 is 6700

i got it set at 6300 for the 1-2 and 2-3. havnt logged yet to see what its really shiftin at, also when i spray it shifts higher.

If your spraying I would shift at the rpms you already have it now. Around 6300 to 6400 on spray and 6500 to 6600 n/a

Ive got the same cam and am shifting at about 6600-6800 not exactly sure but you should have no problem.....pulls all the way through with my P.I. Vigilante 3600.........

whats the highest u can spin these 5.3 on stock bottom end its about 6500 from what i can gather then i see guys spinning to 6700-6800 wtf
