Maybe he was beatin on it before they had warmed up enuff. I'd think it has to do w/. the Ti or steel temp, not outside temps, cause I'm sure it's hot in LA this time of year. Or it could just be 1 of those things that occurs from time to time or a fluke.

Good thought Tom, i hear its a good idea to let the valve springs get some heat in them before you wind up the RPMs'.

icant say for sure when it faied but i reall dont beat on my truck that much and i usually let it idle a min or two then its almost a half mile out the neighborhood at 20mph... so she always good and warm by the time i hit the highway... the guy at patriot was shocked himself to hear one failed and even more so when he saw the pics...

When springs are initially installed it's recommended to go through a heat cycle before flogging them, but that's for the springs, you broke a retainer. Could just be a bad temper or other defect in the metal there.

The patriot springs don't come with titanium retainers. They're a titanium ALLOY. If they were real titanium retainers they would cost a lot more than $255 for a set.

well i have the extreme duals, .660 lift... $275 a set plus when i told the guy at patriot what happened his words were "it broke? thats titanium!"
