The only problem he mentioned in there was the trans and that he was planning to swap to an auto LOL. It's good to know that you can make the big number with the baby manual trans, but apparently it doesn't cooperate so well. Hell in that case, may as well start with the engine and build it to your goals, then when the trans starts to bother you, upgrade it to the manual box of your choice

No problem. Sticking with truck engines will make for the easiest plug and play swaps, although you have everything necessary to make an LS1 work in your truck already, you would just have to remove more from your engine to blot to the new one. The LS1 is an aluminum block 5.7 high-performance car engine that came out in 1997 with the C5 Corvette. The rest of the V-8s GM has introduced since then are developed from that platform, using the same bore spacing and block dimensions while altering bore, stroke, head flow, cam specs, etc for each individual application and as technology has developed. The LQ 4 is the 6.0 iron block V8 used in base HD trucks from 2001-2007. It is the cheapest performance-enhancing engine swap available for a truck like yours. Find one, bolt it in, hook it up, retune, enjoy. Not much to it. The LQ9 is essentially an HO LQ4 (mainly higher compression) and was used in the 2nd-gen Escalade, the H2, and the Silverado SS, among others. Honestly for the price hikes I've seen on some of these you could cam an LQ4 and spend the same for far more performance. Honestly the search button is your best friend. Use it and find far more knowledge than individually tapping members for information that's already been given multiple times

Sorry guys for the the late response I've been busy with life. Here's the thing, after gathering my thoughts and put em on a table I decided to do it on my 4.8. doing it on my current engine is more beneficial, cheaper etc.. Right now I think starting with the a cam should be the first step, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm confused in which cam should be the best for my application, and what brand? I found those four spaces, but don't know which one would be the best for the 4.8 Tr220/220-112, comp 216/220-114,
comp 212/218-114, or ts220r-(112,114). I need your help guys on this, and if you suggest any different space leme know. Thanks
