Vortec Max mods with $1500 budget?
My bro is wanting to mod his truck and asked me for help deciding what to do. He has an 06 vortec max LQ9 ECSB with 4.10s, intake, exhuast, efans, and HPTuners. He daily drives his truck and wants to maintain good drivability but wants 13's in the 1/4. I told him cam, stall, and longtubes would get him there but he can only afford 2 of the 3. Which two would give him the best times?
Also what cam choice should he get out of a 212 218 high lift, 220 220 high lift, 224 224, or a 228 230?
I was leaning toward cam and converter but he already has traction problems and a converter might make it worse.

I was going to say send me the $ and buy no mods, he'll save more in the long run....
you know as well as any that it is just a start, cam and converter are great but without headers something is left on the table so on and so on.
What about a good nitrous kit with all the bells & whistles?

if it has 243sor317s ill trade him my 317s i have in the f/s section and some boot of course
a good cam runs around 250-300 on here from time to time and he can probly have enough for some pacesetters
