When I started reading the original post, the first thing I thought is the cam was too small for that many RPM's. If you have your heart set on turning it 7k, then I would get a bigger cam. With that being said, I would keep that cam and keep the RPM's down. You will more than likely go faster with that cam in your combo. 5600 lbs is fairly heavy, and you will get more use out of the lower torque that your described cam will offer. I would change gears as previously mentioned.

I honestly wouldn't opt for 7000 rpm, especially retaining a stock balancer. You're going to start throwing A/C belts and stuff.

I would go for a slightly heftier cam than Pat spec'ed you. No more than a 225/230 on a 112+3, and a 3000 to 3400 stall. A great trans cooler setup, and gear change would be beneficial as well.

I would go with what was spec'd. It will turn plenty of rpm.

pat specd me the cam and i said i want a 6500rpm rev limit
now even though i didnt install it yet i want more rpms

would this cam give up on me befor 6700-6600 or even 6800rpms?

what about valve float?
i heard the ls1 floats @ arround 6800rpms?
That cam will be done right around 6500. Duration isnt high, tight LSA, and +4 LSA together will keep it strong in the mid range, but it will peak out at 6500ish. I know Patrick personally and he does a great job of specing you what you ask for based upon your parts combination. If you have changed your mind, tell him your new ideas.....he might give you another quick cam for a little more RPM.

If your worried about valve float I would get rid of those heavy dual springs and put on a set of beehives, which are more approriate for that cam. Do you have hardended pushrods?

Like said before, it will spin 7000 but your power will be far past peak and youll be slowing yourself down.

How have you setup the springs you have now?

What heads?
