Just found out that i bent an exhaust valve..
Truck was fully warmed, I always make sure its warm before I give it to much pedal.

UPDATE: i got lucky, I only slightly bent an exhaust valve.. so he is goin to pull the head and see if he can replace the valve, If not then a new to me stock 5.3 head will be goin on..

The fact that it broke so quickly on such a mild cam, I think something else must have contributed to it breaking in your case. Either that or it was a factory defect in the spring. I'm running those same springs on my 228R and it is .588 lift and I have rev'd it to 6700 many times.

The fact that it broke so quickly on such a mild cam, I think something else must have contributed to it breaking in your case. Either that or it was a factory defect in the spring. I'm running those same springs on my 228R and it is .588 lift and I have rev'd it to 6700 many times.
It broke in 2 places also.
So i am thinking of running duals now..

I think it's a pretty proven fact that dual springs do not provide more protection in a spring breakage scenerio. The small spring in the middle is nowhere strong enough to keep the valve up with the engine running. Dual springs can take more abuse and a bit more lift, but they are not bullet proof by all means.
