Default What holds the cam in place on a 6.0 L?

Working on Too Tall's 6.0 L build up. Just put the cam and lifters in. The cam is free to move back and forth in the engine block. The front retaining plate will hold the cam from coming forward in the block, but the rear engine cover doesn't look like it will hold the cam from coming out the rear of the block. It looks like the cam is free to move about a quarter of an inch toward the rear of the engine before the rear engine cover would stop it. So it looks like the front plate holds the cam from thrusting forward, but what holds the cam thrust in the rearward direction? Are we missing some kind of retainer in here somewhere?

Edit: It looks like the cam sprocket keeps the cam from moving rearward, correct?

thats normal. just pull it all the way forward until it hits the cam retaining plate and put the rest together. youll see how it works once you start putting the puzzle back together

We put the timing chain sprocket on and that seems to hold it in place. The hub in the end of the camshaft rubs one side of the retaining plate and the sprocket rubs the other side of the plate. So that's it, right?
