who is running a big cam w a stock 80e converter
i have a 6.0 and a stock converter 80e is there anyone running a bigger cam with the stock converter. i know about cams and stalls and have pushed the limit in the past just don't know how these newer motors act. the main reason i asked is bc i have friends with 2500hd and it feels like its stalls up a bit more than a 60e

Anybody else have any ideas on this? My 01 w/4L80E is looking for a cam. It has a stock long block soon to have a full exhaust and cam. With a stock converter and a good tune can you get away with a 218/224 .563"/.570" 116+4? I feel like the wide LSA can keep my overlap down enough for a smooth enough idle. Any opinions or experiences?

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it big time. My truck came with a K&N FIPK on it and my electric fans should be spinnin' next week. Full exhaust including headers will be installed at same time as cam and truck will be taken directly to be dyno tuned. Is your truck tuned?

Sorry dude I didn't mean to try to hi-jack your thread, I thought it was dead after I found it in search. However your project is sweet and since we are looking for the same info I will stay tuned and if you don't mind ask questions also. Also I would go 3.73's, my 2 cents.

One of my friends ran a 233/239 in a 2500HD. It was a bit much due to not enough stall. I have set up a couple of 2500's with the same cam I have. It is just on the edge of too much cam for the stall, but still in range.

So you were able to get by with a stock 4L80E converter behind a 222/224 112LSA cam. Did any of these trucks run stock heads and compression ratios? I didn't think you would be able to get away with that much overlap with the rest of the longblock being factory.
