Sorry dude I didn't mean to try to hi-jack your thread, I thought it was dead after I found it in search.
However your project is sweet and since we are looking for the same info I will stay tuned and if you don't mind ask questions also.
Also I would go 3.73's, my 2 cents.

what are you hopeing the cam will do for you? a higher stall will give you more et than a cam. i would go for a stall first unless you need to tow over 5000lbs often.
i ran a 234/232 600 lift 114 sep cam with a mild stall and it was still a dog till 4200rpm. it picked up great power up top but waiting for it to hit in 1st gear took forever.

i am not really looking for a strip car. i am trying for an all around car. i am going for the restomod style. i want it to be strong but i dont like the mushy pedal of a high stall. i am just trying to get an idea of people that did cam swaps and kept their stock verter and how that vehicle did.

The question is what size cam can be run with a stock converter and with said size cam what modifications were performed.

I'm thinking you should be good but I'm not sure either
. I love the fact that the cam you are looking at doesn't have a silly lift that will do nothing but wear out valve springs on a street engine.
