Default Would this be a good cam for a LQ4

I have a 1500 HD with a LQ4, I bought the truck to be a good tow vehicle and a quick DD. I will be putting on some Dart 225 Pro 1 heads and was thinking about swaping the cam that is in there now a 21x 22x custom cam, for this cam or something like it when I swap the heads. The truck is a crew cab HD with the bolt ons, no TC as of now because I am not sure how much stall I want until I am 100% on the cam. With that said how would this cam behave in my truck and how would it DD and tow with say a 2600 stall? With the Dart heads the compression would be around 10.8-1 I believe. Also one last thing, would I need to upgrade the injectors or would the stockers be good enough? Thanks for the help

Specs: 226/228 .585/.588 114 LSA. Our most popular Street Camshaft. 1700-6700 Power Band. Excellent Street Manners. Lots of "Power Under the Curve". Choppy idle. Computer tuning is required for best results. We suggest Comp 928 Valvesprings

The cam you spec'd would like more TC than 2600. Everything you spec'd does not say towing to me. Have you looked into the heads offered at Texas Speed and Performance? The AFR 205s have always produced good torque. Also, TrickFlow Specialties 215cc. There is a set of TFS 220cc 70cc heads from TEA for sale on LS1tech for 2k shipped. I looked into myself. I just cant make an offer right now.

I have the Darts that was going to be on my 408 but I have desided to not run them and run a better head for my 408. I think the cam that I have would be a good cam for towing but I thought since I was going to be pulling the top end apart for the heads it would be a good time for a cam change.

I totally agree. I would not go any higher than a 218/224 in a daily driven vehicle that tows at least once a week.

Plus forget about changing torque converters, keep what you have in there now.

I still have many mods to do before I get in the engine i.e. gears, headers.

I was thinking that the bigger cam wouldn't give up as much tq down low as everyone is making it sound. Oh well, I guess I was wrong. The truck now has a cam somewhere in the specs that I listed, shorty headers that will be swapped for long tubes, pullies, CAI, tune, and an exhaust. Would it be worth it to swap the heads on it for the Darts I have since they will obviously outflow the stockers and bump the CR? Or would they change the character of the motor too much for DD and towing duties? Is my truck at a point where I should look into getting some aftermarket fuel injectors? There doesn't seem to be a good cutoff point that says at this point injectors need to be replaced. Or I haven't seen it yet. Thanks for the help.
