Default Z06 cam copy ?

I'm thing about getting an ls6/zo6 cam and i found this on ebay.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-...m180241881605&

Is this cam worth messing with? The specs aren't exactly the same, but very close.

ebay copy...204/218 .550/.550 on a 116
01 cam.......204/211 .525/.525 on a 116
02 cam.......204/218 .551/.547 on a 117.5

Basically it's a $110.00 copy vs a 290.00 factory cam.

Another question I have is about valve springs. SDPC recommends the yellow ls6 springs and this ebay guy has sold this cam with several sets of the blue springs. Whats the differnce?

Thanks Jason

Be careful buying regrind cams. There have been threads on here about lobes washing out on regrinds.Read ebay ad it states REMANUFACTUERED!

I have a 01 z06 cam with matching blue springs I will sell for $160 if interested send me a PM.

DO NOT BUY A REGRIND CAM

thats trouble you dont need, and can't afford.

For that price I would try to find a real zo6 cam. i would stay away from a regrind, but thats me, some will say their as good as new.. HP doesn't come cheap, yah usually get what ya pay for like the old tale says

I have personally seen a regrind cam with chips all in it after being pulled from an engine. Its not pretty. I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

stay away from that regrind !!!!

i work in a lab dealing doing nothing but measurements... and i bought a regrind, once.

i put it on our super-mic, which is accurate to about + or - 5 millionths of an inch, and the cam was WAY out of specs.

it was a z06 regrind, the 01 specs... i think 207/217 525/525 on a 116

EVERY lobe was different, as much as .015", and the highest measured lift was .509" , leaving it way off from what it was supposed to be.

i sold it to someone else, but let them know exactly what it was.... a shitty copy. always beware of cheap ****, one bad part will destroy a complete engine.

There is a **** *** on Ebay, trying to pass regrinds as new, so be careful there.
