Just want to start off by saying this is an awsome site with a lot of knowledge.

I am building /upgrading a stock 8.1 vortec. So far I have a zz502 cam I want to install. Having some issues trying to find valve springs to install along with retainers, locks and seat buckets.
Also I understand the pistons are weak. Plan on keeping it NA for now.
Buy the way I will be running it via Megasquirt II.
This is going into a 85 K5 Blazer with a 3/4 ton running gear.

Any help will be cool.

 

Probably in the wrong section but...

I have this cam in my 8.1

It has a different firing order so you have to swap some wires on the pcm for it to run right.

You will want to get rid of the rotators, and get the rotator eliminators. I found some springs on ebay for the lift requirements. Yous hould be able to buy everything from GM for that cam etc. Will defintely need a tune and recommend at least the marine injectors.
