Either way, 8's in a truck is still one of the fastest. Afterall, most run closer to 17's and the list of those quicker than 9.90 is still fairly short. Looking at the "Pro Modified" types, sure several are quick. I read of a Ranger blazing to a 6.395 @ 214+mph... That's proven hard to beat, I'm sure. The quickest 10 are surely in the low 6's to 7.0's. After that, the number of seriously quick pickups drops off considerably. There just aren't all that many.
I can't view the video, but is that a DIESEL powered pickup? If so, 8's is basically phenominal at this point.

6.0 mod... Well then. Wish I could see the video. 8's is still haulin' in a pickup or a car. It's just "cooler" in a pickup!
Yeah, Jason quit racing his truck in 2001 as I remember. There was no class for it at the time and he was offered a bit of money to run it as an exhibition at some FFW and NMRA type races. With the trouble getting it to remain straight on the track, he was frustrated. It has to be scary to feel something going that fast as it's getting away from you, and knowing if it does, not much can be done for you. He's a real nice guy and it was too bad he called it quits. He told me it was for sale for $60,000 and I was like... That's all? Of course, I know he had well over that in it, but most folks won't spend that for a pickup, race or otherwise. He had it online for ages. Donno if anyone ever bought it, or for how much.
