Jason sold his truck for $40K.
BTW, that's not bracket racing in the video, that's how long it takes him to spool the turbos. That's why he can't keep transmissions in the truck. 8 seconds on the 'brake aint good for the tranny. John has a little way to go to get that thing all sorted out. It should eventually go mid 8s.
Still, the fastest Gen 2 in the world by a looooong shot.
Ralph Voorhees is stepping up with a new motor for next year. Howard Smallwood has a Pro 5.0 motor going into a tube chassis Gen 1. I expect to see probably 3 7-second Gen 1s next year. I'm hoping to get mine into the 8s, driven to the track.

The truck belongs to my buddy, and it was kept a secret to try and race for Lightning Fest, well it didnt get finished, and still isnt finished but hopefully by the end of the month in time for racing season in January
It is true that it is easier to say one thing and do another, but with the turbo, motor and weight combo it should take JL's truck, it will require 2 parachutes to be legal to race

It really hasn't been much of a secret...
In truth, NHRA rules require a single approved parachute at trap speeds greater than 150 mph. There is no dual chute requirement and given that the truck hasn't made a pass, it doesn't require any laundry yet.
There's a lot of cursing and throwing things yet to be done. And that entire time the rest of the field will be getting faster. So, saying "not for long" about a truck that isn't racing yet is... well... you get the idea, I'm sure.
Lot's of potential there for sure.
