Naw, that's cool, ***** up this thread, it's all good...

Thanks for the positive responses, guys, I really appreciate it. It's been tough coming to the realization that nearly all of this situation has been my fault. But over the past few months that's exactly what has happened, and as I came to that realization, I knew I was going to have to say something if I was ever going to be able to hold my head up again.

Regarding the install, yes, the intake manifold bolts were lose. There are 5 on each side. The top four on the driver's side were not tight. In fact, the rear two bolts even had space between the heads and the manifold itself. The next two didn't even need to be broken lose. This left only one that was even close to holding down that side of the blower. It was shocking to say the least. In addition, I suspect that the fuel pressure regulator was mounted incorrectly in the new block. I will installing a new one when the Radix goes back on.

I can vouch that it took at least 5 times around each of the 10 bolts on grippy's Radix to get them to the proper torque. The first time around we torqued to 50 in/lbs, the next three times to 89 in/lbs. For the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th times around, the bolts acted like they were being torqued down for the first time...there was at least an additional half-turn to be had each time the bolts were torqued down again. It wasn't until the 5th time around that the bolts acted like they were finally getting tight. Grippy may have even gone around a 6th time just to be sure, knowing him....

Brian, thanks for posting here. It means a lot to me. And no, I haven't gotten the intake gaskets yet. Do you have a part number for them?

Cheers guys, Happy New Year!

All those bolts were loose....I'm amazed your AV ran at all!! And it gained 60hp no less...geez.

I've always checked the torque on the intake/exhaust manifolds after a few heat cycles....and even while they're warm. And continuously until there's no turning of bolts at all, or I go insane. Which ever comes first. I guess I'm just ****. I would imagine doing the same on the Radix piece couldn't hurt though.

Get 'er done!

Those gaskets are the ones on the LS1. I can get you a part number tomorrow if B doesn't first.
