I've been looking at a Ranger as another vehicle. A bit too small is my current conclusion, but anyway... The 3.0L just seems too gutless for me and I've been in 4.0L versions. They don't seem very powerful either, but it's a big step up. I wonder if it would be worth getting a 3.0L instead(they're notably cheaper) and adding stuff. Not sure I wanna do that, but are these things easy to modify to near 4.0L status? If not, I think I may just get a V8 powered ExploDer instead.

both 3.0s and 4.0s have their good qualitys. there are several bolt ons available depending on the year. electric fan kits, underdrive pulleys, headers, exhaust, shift kits,tb spacers, maf sensor, chips, cold air intakes, and and suspension kits are all available from summitracing.com and fordracing catalog. 3.0s have great potential and r much cheaper but u will only be modifying it to reach the power a stock 4.0 already has. internal mods are also available.
