Default I've got an S10 Question

I have this locker out of a 93 S10 blazer 4x4. I was wondering if anyone knew if it will fit my 2002 S10 2wd. The 02 has 4.10 gears factory but an open diff. Since I had it I thought I might throw it in. Don't know if the axle splines are the same and if the ring gear flange is the right thickness. I just changed the axle grease with synthetic and then remembered I had this locker in my storage unit. I don't want to drain it again only to find that it wont work. Thanks

That's the thing I can't remember. That's a thick flange on the locker. I can't remember how thick the flange on my truck was. I may have to drain and refill again to see for sure. Anyone know if the axle splines are the same?

Well I can't tell you which carrier it is if you don't know the gear ratio it came from, there's 2 different ones. Sorry.

The 93 was a 4.3. I know the gear ratio that came stock makes a difference on the thickness of the flange the ring gear bolts too. I'm not too concerned with that. I can order a set of gears to fit it. I was just hoping that the axle splines were the same number. I've run into that before on another car. I was thinking that the 4x4 might have come with bigger axles. If it comes down to having to get new axles etc. I'm not going to mess with it. I guess i'll just have to open it up again and pull the axles to see if they'll fit.

It fits! Everything seems to work and it's even quieter. I had noticed that with the old carrier there was a bit too much play in between the ring and pinion. The locker when in a little tight and took out a good bit of that play between the gears. We'll see how it sounds in a few days after everything settles in.

Good deal!!! Where's the pics of matching black marks?

Any thread about a locker isn't complete without it

A little late, but yeh the standard axles are the same on those. 4x4 is wider. There are a few different style axles, but if it is the same style axle its GOOD.
