Try putting a narrowed 8.5 inch 10 bolt rear end in with it. The Nissan had a good rear end for a 4 cylinder, but thats where it stops.

The ford explorer 8.8 rear end is being used with very good results. The 96+ units come with disc breaks. Do a search and you'll find more info on this swap.

Fords are evil.

Over head cams are the devils handy work. Ford lost my buisness when the only mod I can do is FI for an effective HP gain.

They're hard to find, but an 8.5" from a 98+ 2WD Blazer, I have one with disc brakes, the down side to this rear end is the gov lock, I'll probably be upgrading to a Tru Trac some time in the future

Im using a 01 blazer rear end. even though im mostly stock I run it kinda hard(heavy foot). had 150k on it when i got it on my truck. A friend of mine used the stock rear end with 4.11 and caltracs on his V8 S10 yanking the front tires off the ground. never had any problems with it.
