you guys just cant accept the fact that they can build a good 60e. i guess if its not a 80e, then its no good. since there local to me, many guys around here run them. the transmission builder there actually runs a 60e behind his 11sec. SSS without a problem.

The amount of money you have to throw at a 60E to get it to last is whats the killer. Its not a $500 junkard transmission.

Its cool that they have had good luck with the 60E, but is it a DD?
I dont trust them, and sure as heck aint gonna spend $3500 on one.

For the price you can get 3-4 stock 80es and never have to worry about a 3-1 down shift. If you compare the size of gears and clutches between the 2 you will understand why. It may last for a while, but it is still a ticking time bomb.

yeah, price is understandable. i can see that. my stage 5 is good for 600 rwhp. (thats truck rated too) paid $2400. ready to bolt right in. unless you come across a good deal, most guys want 800+ for a 80e in unknown condition..then another grand or more to rebuild it stock. so theres, lets say $2000, then you need to do some modifications, if you dont have the right tools to make the mods, then thats gunna cost you lets say another 500-800 for someone to do the mods needs. in the end itll cost more. diehard guys are all about the 80e swapping, but for the guys that just want a reasonable street machine type truck..just get a reputable 60e built. itll most likely last with the average mods guys do. now me, ill give it this one try, ive heard nothing but good things all over the forums about RPM. so its worth a shot. then next is a 80e swap, since i do plan on making big power. im not saying anyones wrong about the 80e or 60e, theyve both be proven..im just speaking for the guys that dont want to get too carried away to the point of swapping transmissions.

we accept they did a good job but like someone said, its damn expensive and im sure its not as good as a 4l80e, i have a built 60e and i REGRET buying it, i know i know its not that brand but still i would never do that mistake twice

If you look around and get to know people. you can get 80E's for cheap..
I only had about $800 in mine (40k miles) after buying a shift kit, and didnt cost me a dime to swap it in except $30 for a yoke and 3 new Ujoints.

No way id run a 60E in a truck. Heck i went a couple years on a stock 6.0 in my truck with the 80E and loved it.

I do agree, i kind of get tired of ppl always saying "If you dont swap in an 80 its junk"....plenty of proven 4l60s out there
