I am real surprised the piston is ok. Did you file the rings down? Hopefully you will be back up and running soon.

Rod caps haven't ever been off the motor! Idk how the stock bottom end does it

A guy on theturboforums just had a nearly identical failure with his 5.3. ****'s crazy!

Damn, nice job dude!!

Be interesting to see what that head looks like fixed. Wonder what Richard at WCCH would do with that head, fix it or scrap it.

Can't wait till you get this thing back on the road!

I've decided not to bother fixing it. No sense in dumping more money in stock heads that are questionable when fixed, now just to decide what to go with.... Hmmm

Prc heads from tsp are very reasonably priced. I picked up a set of stage 1 ls6 heads for 1400 completely assembled
