actually the cam is probably too big for the engine. i guess its working good enough though with the stall. it really doesn't start makign power til around 4K though

if you plan on running anything this big you better be looking at more like a 3800-4000

edit: I watched that vid again.. vig3200 stall in the trans am.

It didnt look too horrible off the line, but that car also weighs way less than my truck. I probably wouldnt do it.. unless I went FI and if I bought a DD... a 4000 stall probably wouldnt be too great on the street w/ rising gas prices and all

Alright, thanks man.

Like Joe said....it wasn't hitting me about the stall needing to be higher for the weight of our trucks vs. fbody's

its not as noticeable watching the video as it is when you actually drive the car. we also have some in car video, i'll try to get that posted as well. you can watch the rpms struggle b/n 3200 and 4000

it sounded real serious which is why we took the motor out. we pulled the oil pan off though and found a bunch of needle bearings. turned out it was just a lifter that decided to die. we were amazed when we pulled the cam out and it still looked brand new. we also checked all the rod and main bearings...they were all fine too. we had intentions of replacing the lifter and putting the motor back in this coming weekend. but dustin is having too much fun with the 4.8

This is my car that Crazy is referring to, it runs pretty good considering whats in it. It would be much better with a set of steeper gears. I have 3.42's in it now because I was trapping 125 with the 5.7 and didnt want to go into OD at the track. I think a set of 4.10's would help out tremendously.
Cam specs are 228/230/.585/.595 114 LSA
