Oh yeah his truck hauls ***, Im not taking that away from him. Just wondering if there is more to the story, never seen a 2wd truck launch like that on the street without vht and slicks on a good road.

Drag radials, that's all I drive on the street. I was on a regular asphalt road.

This video below is about the same time as the first posted. Only difference is I'm on street tires, 5.3, 208/212 cam, 3.42 gears, g80, tt3000 converter.

4.8 seconds - 2wd - street tires

Nothing more, nothing hidden. I've always laid everything out there on my setups. No doubt I have to feather the throttle everywhere to keep from spinning though. I can't launch like a 4wd that's for sure, but I believe the right combination and the right driver 3 second 0-60's is capable in a 2wd on the street. (Yes 0-60 is a gay measurement, but we are talking the street here)

Tie rod sleeves, Cognito pitman/idler braces, limiting straps/chains, and de-crank.

These helped my launches, but I'm still dialing everything in to make it even better.

The secret to Matt's hard launches are his suspension. And even then it's not a secret, just that people overlook it.

He's a bit of suspension geek really.
