13.65 @ 97.74 out of $3500-4000.00 upgrade?
eh...decent, but should be a lot stronger for that price imho.

I cut a 1.88 60' and it went 8.5 in the 1/8 but my 1/4 would of been a lot better if my converter hadn't of locked right as i hit 3rd. I'm going to have my tuner fix that, and try it again. I know for sure it has a lot more in it. But I was happy to hit a new PB, but it's not what I was hopng for.

When you say $3500-4000, what are you referring to? And once I get my tune on my converter straightened out it'll be a low 13

Gotta start somewhere, dude. Built transmission, truetrac, converter aren't going to add power...but they'll support it when the power does come. (read: forced induction) Unless 3.5-4k on parts isn't what you were referring to...

FWIW, I spent like $2000 on my Roush blower back in the day, which would have been closer to 5k if I had got it from magnacharger. And my best time was 13.9 at 99...throw in the cost of my transmission, cam, and converter...and its probably closer to 7k worth of parts. I'd say he's doing well.

My set up is 5.3, 218/224 cam, lsxrt 102, 87mm tb, full bolt ons. PB Lvl 2 with 3400 billet stall converter. 4.10's 295/45zr18 NT05's, Oh yeah and a set of PRC stg 2.5 5.3's!
So... Base numbers before tune 365 rwhp
Final numbers 394 rwhp and 355 rwtq

even though the converter locked, it still should have had more MPH that than.
PRC stg 2.5 heads are 1000-1800 depending used/new condition.
FAST 102 is 900 then everything to make the injectors assuming he upgraded to the FAST fuel rails 1200ish.
Dr. X link 250

just saying for that head/intake upgrade i would have expected more MPH even though it didnt E.T. very fast. GreyMatter04 runs 13.8s @ 98-99mph in an ECSB with a stock 5.3, 212/218, 3000 converter, 3:42s, LTs, CAI, Tune. just saying for the price tag that cost him, id be pissed off.

the price i have in my 6.2/6spd yeah i could have went 76mm turbo and a 80e but no ones done the 6.2/6spd swap here and i like being different. dont get me wrong the truck made "hp/tq" but it didnt prove itself at the track which is what everyone wants to see correct? a 13.6 @ 97 id set my truck on fire after all that money spent. my truck is a CC and went 13.0 @ 104.2 with less converter, and heavier truck. with only 352/380 made.....just saying.

even though the converter locked, it still should have had more mph to it. i dont think the converter being unlocked is gonna drop you .6 seconds, and gain you 5-7mph. but hey, i dont know anything so i hope you getting the tune worked out solves your problems, and gives you the e.t/mph you want.
dont take my posts as im bashing your combo, times or anything. just saying i expected way more than that out of the money spent on the combo and the hp/tq reading from the dyno

I was also expecting more, my tuner has had my converter locking in 3rd since the first tune, so I just thought truck was a dog in 3rd. I never knew why. I'm not taking anything as bashing. My truck is a blast to drive on the street, I can blow the tires off from a 40mph roll.
If I could re-due what I've done to my truck, and start with one big chunk of money, instead of doing one thing at a time. I would of did a turbo, tranny, and call it a day.

Again, his engine makes power at high RPMs. Thats generally how NA engines are... If the converter is locked, you don't have that torque multiplication anymore. Believe me, with his gearing and 60e, 1st and 2nd run out really quick. Then the converter locks and just drags its lazy *** across the traps. After lockup its not in the sweet spot of the powerband anymore. That's where the lack of trap speed is coming from.
There is a ton of work to be done in the tune. I'm no expert tuner, but from what I know and have seen, his tune certainly isn't spot on... Also keep in mind that for X dollars, you don't get Y amount of power or ETs... Theres different ways to go about doing it.
