Does anyone know the company that makes that nice crossmember for the 4l80 swap? It looks like a tubular factory piece and was pretty cheap if memory serves me correctly.

Another option is to drop the trans and change the band. I'd throw in a Vette servo, too. I have both parts here.

What would you guys do? I want to get racing again.
FLT makes the 80. As "spirited" as you drive you need it. It would be a waste of time and resources to fix the 60

I have the 80e sitting on my garage floor along with the cooler lines and transfer case input shaft. I just need a crossmember and some driveshafts. I think I'll just mod up my crossmember and do the required wiring. I will leave the driveshafts up to a local guy here who does good work. As far as the segment swap goes, I'm little lost.

Segment swap is cake. There is a writeup for it on the HPT forum.

Another reason for you to buy HPT.....

EFI Live has a sticky also how to do this, if i can do it you can do it ! Its`EASY!

Dont waste any more time on that 60e.

Put the 80 E in and be done with it.

If you redo the 60 it WILL fail again, With your truck, wieght, power level, And as fast as the power comes on, a 60 e will NEVER last. I know this!!!!!!

OK, my mind is made up. I'm ordering HP tuners and putting the 80e in. I was hoping to go with a stall but they are so damned expensive for those trannies.

Nice run. Race city is horrible. When i ran there in my rcsb it went 13.5 as well. Just going to a different track drops .4 seconds at least.

I'd like to do a bit of practice tuning on my current 5.3 before the swap but now that I need to do a tranny I'm thinking that I'll do it all at once. I hope I don't regret this.

And yes, the track at Race City is slippery. I have a vid against a Duramax where you can see all four tires spinning. I hook better on the street. It was opening day though so hopefully it improves some as things heat up.

The DA is ridiculous as well. I think elevation is around 4000ft but da is usually 5-6000ft.
