This new ecoboost motor is definitely pretty stout, but this article right here proves that these ford truck tests that Mike Rowe always hosts are complete bs. A while back they did a similar bs test with the '11 ford, chevy, and dodge hd trucks to see how quickly each truck could pass a semi towing 9750lbs up a 7% grade. Of course they claimed that the Ford passed the semi almost 5 seconds quicker then the chevy and about 12 seconds quicker then the dodge. Then despite ford uping the horsepower of all their trucks by 10 and torque by 65 (which was done AFTER ford's test) chevy asked pickuptrucks.com to do an unbiased test and as you can see the chevy obliterated the ford. I'm sure this turboed v6 tows pretty good but I have a hard time believing that a 6.2 equipped silverado with 3:73 gearing (both are available together as an option from the factory. I checked with my local dealer) would not tow at least as good as the heavier ford with the ecoboost v6.
