I was scared just like u before but after a couple months when I shift it at 6k it just doesn't pull as good and 6600 seems to be doing just fine.. but if u dyno tone it u will c where it stops making power

That sounds high to me... but what the hell do I know. We'll see. I'll play with it and see where it seems to do the best. I think id rather short shift it a tad rather than kill it for just a hair more. I need this thing to last! Maybe I'll set it to 6000 and see where it lands me.
LS engines love to rev, nothing like the older 350 SBC engine that is in your older truck.
I shift @ 6400rpm in normal mode and 6500rpm in tow haul in my RCSB 5.3L and smaller cam. Another tuner I was talking to suggested 6600rpm in tow haul, but I really didn't want to shift that high so I went with 6500rpm.

I guess try it at 6000rpm shifts if you like, but you will be changing it soon higher. I'd prob try it at 6300 first in your LQ9 starting out then you can put it on a dyno and end up wanting to shift it more. 6300rpm is still conservative..
