Default Spinning in the Rain

I was bored and looked out the window. It's drizzling! I next looked over at the camera just sitting there all neglected and put two and two together...

My truck is between two weekend's worth of exhaust modification so I have one Hooker Super Comp with plugs that side at 0.035". The other side has a TOG header with the plugs at 0.040". Quite a bit unbalanced, oh well. Vortec 350's take anything so I went for a spin....

I call this video "Drizzle"

enjoy

My passenger side one cracked inside the collector where the pipes merge together. It really screwed up my O2, the truck was down on power until it warmed up enough to swell the crack shut. I've never heard of anyone cracking a set of these things. Lucky me.

The Super Comps are going in. I have to weld on A.I.R., EGR, and O2 bungs to both sides, I only had time to do the passenger side this last weekend due to only having Sunday to tinker with it. Talk about jamming a round peg into a square hole, getting the passenger side one in was a bit of work! I even had to jack up the engine that side. Once in position all the primaries come close to lots of stuff but clear it! These were definately designed carefully.

Oh yeah, oil pressure is definately low. It even drop a few seconds into WOT. A few years ago I even ran it with coolant in the oil. Even now it doesn't burn a drop of oil, no knocking, no "piston slap", great compression. Just the bearings are a little worn. The 100% stock shortblock just won't die. lol

There's a HT383 GM crate shortblock in this truck's future I'm sure.
