I'd shift at 65 on the street and 7k at the track.

 

Are these stock motors strong enough to do that? I know Corey has done in with his 4.8 a few times, but I'm wondering if it is safe to do with a 5.3 with the longer stroke.

 

6500, based on my search here seems to be a very common shift point for the street. The LS2 has a 6500 redline from the factory and it's bottom end is no different than a truck 6 liter, or even 5.3 for that matter.
