'09 Ram R/T from the D
I've lurked around here since the start, and even made a few posts. But now I've actually got a "performance" truck, a 2009 Ram R/T. Dodge didn't make many of them before the shutdown(less than 100), and it looks like "at the most" 450 were made total for 2009. Appearance-wise, the R/T badge and body colored grill is the only difference between the R/T and the Sport rc trucks. But it also comes with 4.10 gears and a higher stall converter(my guess is around 2800). It's pretty dang quick for a 4800lb truck
So far I've lowered it and tinted the windows. I'd like to change the wheels, but don't really want to spend the cash. I think I'm gonna do a bed rug and a ltsport cover if they come out with one for the '09 trucks. I'll pry do true duals down the road, and a diablo tuner when it hits the market. I'll get some subtle "browndogwelding" graphics on there too, just trying to figure out what I want.
Those were before the 2/4 drop, these are after:

It gave me a good idea, but there is more in it. I took it on the Hot Rod Power Tour the week after I got it, and the last stop was in Bristol. Temps were in the 80s, humidity was close to 100%, we had all our luggage in it and I was running 87. The uncorrected time was 14.6 at 93, the corrected time was 14.0 at 96. My buddy that road tripped with me was driving, and he raced our other friend's '04 Lightning, who typically runs mid 13s. I figured the Ram would get spanked, but it was tight the entire 1320....he ran a 14.4 to the R/T's 14.6, so that tells you how bad the weather was. But you can't not run at Thunder Valley!!!
Cool weather, 89 octane, no excess weight...I think 13s stock is a possibility. Either way, I love this truck.
