2001 5.3 silverado needs assistance
ladies (if any) and gentle man, i got my self a 2001 silverado with the 5.3 that i wanna lay some rubber with. i got it stock and raced a 2003 dodge hemi 5.7 and i lost. since then ive installed a k and n fipk intake, edelbrock shorty headers, flowmaster muffler with 3" pipes from the y dumped. i also have the hypertech power programmer 3. well thats all it took for the hemi but i got lightning in crosshairs. i want some nasty heads, cam, intake manifold, a real exhaust system nelson tuning suspension upgrades. i also need help with the tranny and rear end. i have the stock 3.73 posi now. im hoping for an sts turbo in the near future. but heres is the problem. i have no idea which parts i can swap with or performance parts that i can upgrade to.
so heres my question. i hope someone would be cool enough (who has worked on a 5.3) would provide a list of what parts (manufacture and part #) everyone has installed that would be great. if you can keep in mind i live in california where the smog laws SUCK
and thanks again. i love this site. you cant buy knowledge like this.

Heads: Keep your heads, get them flowed, get the LS1 valve seals, diff rockers and diff springs, TS hardend Pushrods
Cam: http://www.lingenfelter.com/store/ls1-gt2-5.html
Throttle Body: Ported and Polished, cost like $70 or do it yourself
Stall Converter: Inline-6 Trailblazer Converter
they had 3 part numbers for the I6 converter.

ive been reading the differences between the 5.3 and the ls1 and im not sure what the difference is. different people have different answers. i saw the cam and it says for engines 350-383. does my 5.3 take parts that fit a 350/5.7
oh and by the way great suggestions and i do appreciate the help.
