Hey guys, just joined today although I have had my truck for a few months. It's an '05 extended cab w/t 2wd with a 4.8l/auto. I was happy with it until I took it to Powercruise at Brainerd International Raceway 2 weeks ago. It was pretty fun running the complete road coarse and beating on it as hard as I could, but it was a little too easy to control, lol.

A few days later I went on craigslist for a 6.0 to throw in and picked one up for $600, just missing the coil packs. The guy said it had 225k miles on it when the 2004 Sierra was totalled. I haven't gotten into it yet as this will be a slower build. I'm still not even sure if it's an LQ4 or LQ9 yet but the guy did say LQ4 in the title of the ad, then threw in LQ9 at the end of the description. Hopefully it's an LQ4 since I am wanting to turbo it.

I am looking forward to all of the information I can find here, it seems turbos are pretty popular.

So far I installed a DJM 4/6 drop, airlift helper bags, custom raised carrier bearing, the factory 20's with 275/45 tires, painted handles, overhead console and drilled/slotted front rotors.

Nice rig! Is that a 4L80E flexplate i see siting on the ground? Might as well get that swap going too. You're going to need it with a boosted 6.0!

That might be for a 4l80, it came on the engine. I am planning on that swap as well.

I wish meguiers paid me for doing placement like that!
