Hello, name is Travis from ms. My friend, lownslo, told me about this site. I jut bought a 2000 Sonoma ext cab 2.2 with a locked up motor and plan on putting in an alum 5.3 with ported, polished, milled .030, valve job, ls6 intake, pat g cam, brp longtube headers, t56, and 4.10 gears. I have already ordered my current performance wiring harness. Currently waiting on my block to get back from the machine shop.
A little back story as to why I bought this truck:
My friend and his dad built a 96 s10 with a 5.7 and a t56 out of a Gto for a customer. They needed to a third driver to take it to get it tuned(they were taking a trans am and a firebird as well). I had nothing planned, so I volunteered. Big mistake. I drove it for about an hour and fell in love. This truck would blow the tires in third without even trying. It is the most fun I have had driving a vehicle. The truck was cam only and put down 380 rwhp on a very consertive tune.

Hoping for 380 rwhp with my setup with 10:1 cp. aught to be a fun daily driver. My other car is a 1996 cobra with bolt ons and after I finish the truck will build a 323 big bore stroker with a t76. Already have block, heads, intake, turbo, etc. mainly need a rotating assembly and turbo kit sans turbo, lol.
Will post a build thread once I am pretty far off in the build. Aiming to finish the truck between July-September. Just depends on how long it takes for my harness to get made and money, of course, lol.

welcome travis! Glad ya made it over, I can't wait to ride in the new truck when ya get it rolling. Oh and guys this fella takes some amazing pictures so hopefully he will contribute some in the multimedia forum soon

Thanks for the welcome. I plan on starting a build thread in may or June when I have made a lot of progress. Right now I have ordered a harness and picked up a cleaned up 5.3, worked 243s with .650 springs, ls6 intake, injectors, bearings, rings, t56 with clutch pressure plate and hydraulics and a few odds and ends which puts me about halfway done money wise. Got $5k to go on more parts, give or take.
