New from New Mexico!
This is my second forum. I have a 2005 silverado 1500, but I like to call her my mini SS (: i got her with a 4.8 and swapped it out for a lq4(6.0) I pulled that 6.0 back out and ready to make it a beast. The only mods on the truck are cold air intake, superchips program, and 40 series flowmasters. Then the rest is cosmetic, like the leveling kit, SS rims, Navigation, Custom SS cluster, Pioneer Sound system and that's about it. Looking for what to put on the 6.0 to make my truck roar.

Well I've been reading up on some simple budget-friendly builds with the 6.0 short-block I have. I think I can reach about 500hp with everything BUT forced induction due to the fact that I dont want to buy the forged pistons because of the price and because I really don't have time to maintain the super-charger/turbo. The original engine was rated at 345HP(I think) and with long-tube headers and a valve increase of .027 in. and at rocker arm increase of 1:7:1 to 1:8:1 it made over 400 horses.. So i figure do the same but add a cam and a custom program and I'll get there! But Pics going up now!

Welcome to the site, as you have most likely discovered by now you are not going to hit 500hp with a cam and tune. The LQ4 6.0 was rated anywhere from 300-325hp depending on what it was in. The LQ9 6.0 was the 345hp due to higher compression, however with some boost the LQ4 is a champ. You should look into you forced induction options considering the power you are shooting for.
