new to trucks but not performance
hey guys i just brought home a 2005 silverado RCSB with a 5.3 and 4wd. It has 36000 miles on it with a magnaflow muffler and K&N CAI. Im not looking to make it the speediest thing in the world. Thats why i have the WS6 in the garage.
Right now my intentions with the truck are to make a awesome dd that has some get up to it but also perform well in snowy weather as i live in north central Indiana. As it sits right now i am pretty amazed at the power this truck has exibited in daily driving but I am still looking for more.
So my initial questions are;
1. What are some good sites to surf for performance parts for trucks? other then sponsorers to the ---->
2. Does the 5.3 accept most aftermarket LS1 parts?
3. What exhaust setups are used with these trucks (i like the look of the gibson side exhaust)
4. What are the free mods for these motors?
5. Where do I get a leveling kit for this truck as the front sits much lower then the back?
6. Are there any other good truck sites to learn on more geared toward 4wd trucks?
thanks alot everyone I hope to learn as much here as I do everyday on LS1tech!

Welcome to the site! Check out the Search button at the top and do an advanced search to narrow it down to certain sections, every one of your questions has been discussed before on here a few times. Tons of good info on here, so take some time to read up to get an idea of what you want to do with your truck and how much you want to spend.
Off the top of my head, here are some answers to your questions from reading on here over the years:
1. Sponsors ===> Usually the cheapest and sometimes run promos and group purchases.
2. Most of the time, depends on what it is. But internally, it usually does.
3. Magnaflow is very popular on here, so is Corsa but a bit more $$. Whatever you do, go stainless so no rusting, esp with road salt.
4. TB bypass, $1 headlight mod, BB t-stat mod (needs tuning afterwards though), modifying the stock airbox, vette servos ($14 and worth every penny)
5. crank the torsion bars, read up on here first though
6. No

I would level the back before I cranked the bars.....cranking the bars will result in a rough ride......shackles on the other hand will have no adverse affects on the ride.
