Default Swapping a gen 3 motor into a gen 4 nnbs

I'm going to be posting a of everything I've found that's required to swap an older gen 3 lq4 motor into a nnbs that originally had a gen 4 4.8. This doesnt seen to be a popular swap. Hopefully it helps someone.

Generally it's considered a step in the wrong direction unless you're using an 05+ LQ9.

Curious to read your write up. Why did you can the 4.8?

Too much different between the two to make it worth it most of the time.

the price of the 6.0/4l80 was to good to pass up and it only had 85k miles. My 4l60 crapped out on me and my rear main seal was leaking. I'm going to keep my 4.8 and get it prepped and forged for the future.

it really wasnt but about a $280 dollar difference. Just swapped reluctor wheel and got the block drilled for knock Sensors. Was going to refresh the motor with new bearings, seals and everything anyway because I had most of the components for refreshing my 4.8 which had 176k miles.
