Lightbulb Thinking about buying 2006 2WD 6.0L Silverado, need tech info

Hi guys! (long time LS1tech.com member)

My name is Bill and my wife and I were thinking about buying a Colorado Sport Crew Cab within the next 2 months but after checking into all the incentives GM is having on the new trucks, I'm highly considering a 2006 2WD 6.0L Silverado Crew Cab Short Box. (Cash Back + GM Card Earnings)

I have a 2001 Camaro SS M6 and have done many mods to it: Heads, Cam, Exhaust, N20, EWP, etc... I know the truck engines are the same style as my car but I do know there are a few differences here and there.

I have a few tech questions for ya and hope to get them all answered to help me decide on a few things:

- What does a stock 2006 2WD 6.0L Silverado put down on a dyno (SAE, unlocked)?
- Can you use a car intake (LS6) on a truck engine to gain more top end HP?
- How much HP does the stock fuel pump handle?
- What are the cam specs for the 2006 6.0L?
- What size injectors are in the 2006 6.0L?

This truck will be our daily driver and will be replacing our 2002 S-10 Extended Cab. If I do buy this truck, I am considering adding a small cam (220 224 116lsa), ported 6.0L heads, LT Headers with cats and catback. As for tuning, I will tune it myself using HP Tuners as I have tuned over 50 LS1 cars, including my own.

Thanks in advance guys!

Bill

stock rwhp is about 280-290.

you can use the car intake, it's just a pain in the *** swap.

the stock pump should be good for about 500hp before fuel pressure begins to trail off.

i don't remember cam spec's off hand. i believe lift is .463&.479 though.

injectors should be 26lbs hr if i recall correctly.

if you go for the vortec max, you will be happy.

What does a crew cab short box weigh?

What is the duration of the stock cam?
