Default 150 shot in 2000 5.3l iron block?

just wondering how safe it would be to spray a 150 shot on my 2000 5.3l iron block with an LS6 cam? i expect my 4l60e to crap out on me eventually but how much should this speed it up? i expect to get a 4l80e afterwards.

ALSO, how safe is it to spray with a turbo, not until much further in the future but just to know. all assuming i will get PCM retuned.

You should be ok. Do you know if MTI advanced your timing any with the tune? If they did you might want to pull what they advanced back out, or run a higher octane fuel when you spray.

i shift at 6200 rpm, yes they advanced the timing, i run 93 octane fuel all the time, sometimes i buy an octane boost to 104 or something but yea, i figured i would have to take some timing away. how long should my 4l60e last with a 150? i would get a tranny cooler, i have 80k on the truck and it towed for probably about 4k of those miles. how long until i need a 4l80

If you use a RPM window switch and don't spray through the sifts it will last a while longer then if you sprayed through them.

like everyone is saying, motor should take it if your tune is on but the tranny wont. my stock tranny was slipping after just a few bottles set at 100shot on a 4.8.

Hey Jim, were you using a window switch when this happened? Not to hijack the thread.
